TESTIMONIALS
Georgia has attended Step on Stage for two years now and has been involved in musical theatre/stage schools since the age of 3. Step on Stage has absolutely been the best experience and school she has been to and she has really blossomed under Emma and her team. They are an amazingly creative and supportive team and I would (and have!) recommended them to a number of people. Georgia has grown in confidence across all three areas of musical theatre and especially in acting, really benefiting from the opportunity recently to work with the Youth Theatre Group in an excellent national theatre connection production directed by Emma. Georgia is developing skills she will keep for life and enjoys every minute of her time spent at Step on Stage. I cannot speak highly enough of this company. Their commitment and professionalism are a great example to the young people and I think Emma will have Georgia with her for a very long time! - Mrs F, Hampton
Scarlett loves Step on Stage in all its various forms. From musical theatre to piano, from singing to playwriting, from summer schools to shows, she looks forward to the sessions every week. She has progressed really well in the LAMDA and ABRSM exams, but more importantly has grown in confidence, self discipline and thoroughly enjoyed herself! Mrs G - Twickenham
It's the boundless levels of enthusiasm, passion, excitement, education and commitment that Emma offers my daughter at Step on Stage. She has encouraged Leila not only through the Musical Theatre disciplines in addition to experience song recordings for 'Sing Up' and the journey of being part of the youth theatre group for the 'Oliver' production. My daughter really enjoys her weekly drama and piano lessons at Step on Stage with Emma, who is a wonderful teacher and always makes the lessons fun. There are plenty of opportunities for the children to take part in festivals and various shows which happen throughout the year. I would highly recommend them. N. Diamond
I have a daughter and a son of different characters who love their time at SOS. My daughter is very theatrical, her enthusiasm has been nurtured and channelled by Emma and her team helping her to be sensitive in her performance. She also has singing lessons, finding a bigger range and volume to her voice which she loves! My son receives different things from SOS, his confidence with public speaking has grown and has been surprised by his love of acting. Both children have benefited from being involved in festivals and taking LAMDA exams. The lessons are full of fun, learning through games, writing their own scripts and an exciting range of topics. Hope was first introduced to Step on Stage by attending open auditions for a production of "The Water Babies" in 2012 and taking part in the subsequent production.
She enjoyed it so much that she has been going to their Musical Theatre classes for over two years now. She absolutely loves not only Saturday morning sessions, but also the opportunity to take part in productions, showcases, singing recordings and so much more.
I'm convinced that these experiences and the input from the wonderful teachers have helped her grow in confidence & self esteem which in turn has led her to take part in many other opportunities at school and in other areas of her life. Ms R - Hampton
Charlotte lives for her Saturday morning sessions. She loves the music, dance and drama. It has helped develop her confidence and social skills for everyday life. Mrs W - Twickenham
Brune joined Step on stage when she was 7 years old, she has since enjoyed playing in various Musical, she was fab as Willy Wonka, Alice in Wonderland and 80 days around the world. She is very keen on dancing and singing but also really enjoys the acting side which she has improved by learning numerous poems, classic prose for solo and duo acting, all performed for Lamda exams and Richmond Festival. Her little brother, Charlie wanted so much to join her, by no doubt impressed by her performances !!, after a couple of years, we had no choice but to say yes! His learning curve has been very busy, learning songs, dances and text for Oliver Twist and not the least gaining confidence!
They both enjoy the variety of acting facets and they truly enjoy practising with their pair. Emma pushes the kids and expect the best of them. Drama classes, play and musical have been a fantastic experience and a great challenge. Mrs D - Twickenham
Emma's commitment to her students at Step on Stage is outstanding. Her energy and enthusiasm are boundless, She leads and inspires by example and is a constant source of innovative ideas. She helps each student to discover and develop their own talents, whether in dance, drama, singing or playing an instrument, allows them to progress at a pace that suits them, and offers numerous performance opportunities to develop self-confidence, stage craft and wider skills in engaging with an audience. Emma and her teachers also place a high premium on team work, putting a lot of effort into developing a strong corps d'esprit amongst cast members and fostering a real sense of enjoyment in rehearsing and performing together. Step on Stage is amazing. Put the actual acting skills to one side (which are great) the bigger benefits are that Step on Stage gives your children more confidence, strength & inner belief. In such difficult online, social media times – Step on Stage provides real world “face to face” people skills. The benefits are priceless & all in a fun, great, professional environment. I could not recommend it higher for any child at any level…. & I thank Emma & all at Step on Stage for what they have done for my daughter - Jason
Step on Stage Summer School has been the highlight of my daughter’s entire year for the last 5 years! It’s amazing how much they can achieve in a week. The end of week performances are always extremely impressive! - Mrs P
During several parents evenings, the teacher would tell us our daughter continued to be shy in class and eventually suggested we consider a drama or musical theatre class. Our daughter was painfully shy at all times - even with family and close friends. We looked at several musical theatre/drama groups and eventually found SOS. 2 years later our daughter's confidence has grown so much that she has even completed her first LAMDA exam (thanks to the teachers preparing the children in plenty of time and with lots of encouragement) and immediately asked if she could be put forward for the next one! After seeing the growth in confidence and the smile on our daughter's face each time she left the musical theatre class we decided to enrol our 5 year old son. Our children absolutely love attending SOS, they have made lovely friends and always have so much fun but more importantly they are given a space to be creative and express themselves. The classes on a Saturday provide a great mix of dance, acting and singing and there is always something to be involved in. The teachers are supportive, encouraging and welcoming. The shows are always so well organised and wonderful to watch. In addition to the musical theatre classes both our children have received piano lessons from Emma - she is professional but friendly and really knows how to work at the child's pace but also encourage them to work to their potential. If you are reading this review because you are considering enrolling your child then I would 100% recommend it. - Victoria
