PLAYS and NEW WRITING

The Edelweiss Pirates by Ayub Khan Din

Picture
Ayub Khan Dins new play, The Edelweiss Pirates tackles the viewpoint of the teenagers of Germany during the second world war.

1943, the Second World War rages into its fourth year, and the German population live in silence and fear as they blindly follow Hitler's extreme policies.  Yet in the shadows, there are whispers.  young voices join together to say enough is enough.  The true story of a group of teenagers with extraordinary courage in the face of immense danger, who rose up against the Nazis and their vision, this debut play brings these heroes lives to a new light.

The senior youth theatre performed this emotional play at the Hampton Hill Playhouse on February 16th 2015 and this was followed by a performance at The Bush Theatre in April.
